ANNUAL KAPOA POKER RUN
2026 KAPOA Poker Run Raises $20,000 for Local Healthcare
The 13th KAPOA Poker Run has raised $20,000 in support of local healthcare, with this year’s proceeds going toward the purchase of a new digital X-ray machine for St. Francis Memorial Hospital.
Organized by the KAPOA Poker Run Committee, the annual event brings boating enthusiasts together for a day on the water while raising funds for St. Francis Memorial Hospital.
This year’s event brings the Poker Run’s total fundraising to more than $240,000 over its 13-year history.
The Foundation extends its sincere thanks to the KAPOA Poker Run Committee, volunteers, participants, sponsors and community members who helped make this year’s event a success. A special thank you goes to Gerri Lucas, Chair of this year’s event, for her leadership.
The funds raised will help support a new digital X-ray machine at St. Francis Memorial Hospital. X-ray technology is one of the hospital’s most frequently used diagnostic services, helping physicians quickly identify injuries and illnesses and determine the appropriate treatment.
By supporting the Poker Run, participants are helping ensure patients in the Madawaska Valley continue to have access to high-quality diagnostic care close to home.
