TREE OF LIGHTS CELEBRATIONS
On Friday, December 5, 2025, we celebrated our Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Railway Station in Barry’s Bay. The memorial tree was lit in honour and in memory of loved ones.
A special thank you to the Township of Madawaska Valley for sponsoring the event, and for planting a new permanent Tree of Lights - a tree that will grow alongside our community for many years to come. We are grateful to the donors who helped make this possible: Yantha Backhoe & Trucking; Janet Adams & Nathalie Spratt; Shelley Bellisle; Patricia & Gregory Scott; and Jo Anne & Michael Truskoski.
While the new permanent tree grows, we’d like to give special recognition to Dr. Joe Cybulskie for providing the second larger tree for the celebration.
Thank you to Madawaska Coffee Co. for providing the hot refreshments for the evening. A big thanks goes to the hospital dietary department for making the delicious cookies for attendees!
And thank you to Simmons Sport Horses for getting their mini horses Peaches and Pierogi all dolled up and sharing them with the community!
The Station Keeper Singers were a hit and provided songs during the night.
Once again, our angels returned from local elementary schools to help light the tree with our Mr. Claus himself. Angels included:
• Karli Welk of Killaloe Public School
• Aaliyah Nicolas of George Vanier Catholic School
• Harris Hardy of Palmer Rapids Public School
• Riley Whyte of Whitney Public School
• Hollie Grace Klentz of St. Martins Catholic School
• Isabelle Luckovitch of St. John Bosco School
• Kaydence Towns of Madawaska Valley District School
• St. Andrews Catholic School – Paige and Tori Brotton
A number of volunteers assisted with the night including Stan & Sherry Quesnelle, Theresa Prince, Carman Palubiski, Sue McAllister, Donna Smith, Maxine Smaglinski and even Santa himself!
If you were unable to attend, you can watch the ceremony on our Facebook page.
